How to Find Trains Between Two Railway Stations

Learn how to search by station name or code, compare route matches and read the scheduled timings for a journey.

Choose the exact stations

On the TrainTime search form, enter the starting and destination station. Select each station from the suggestion list. This uses the station code and helps avoid confusion between stations with similar names.

Compare matching trains

The results include trains that list both stations in the selected travel order. Review the train number, service name, listed departure and arrival times, operating days and route distance when those fields are available. A result is a timetable match; it does not show seats or confirm that the train is running today.

Open a train route

Select a train number to view the listed station-by-station route. Check the stop sequence, arrival and departure entries, journey day, halt duration and distance. Read any missing values as unavailable in the snapshot rather than as a promise that there is no stop or halt.

Check current travel details

Before leaving, verify the service for your travel date using a live running status enquiry. For a booking, use current seat availability and fare enquiry resources. These are external services and may ask for additional journey information.

Start a route search

Use the between-stations search to select your stations. You can also open the station directory to find a station code first.
